Sumy region tax official exposed demanding bribe from frontline business (PHOTO)
NABU and SAPO have exposed a department head of the State Tax Service in the Sumy region for demanding and receiving an undue benefit.
As established, the official, acting in collusion, solicited UAH 2 million from a representative of a private company in a frontline area. In return, she promised the company would pass an inspection and face no obstacles in its business activities.
After receiving UAH 1.5 million, the official was detained.
Her actions fall under Part 4 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The investigation is ongoing.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered not-guilty in the commission of a crime and cannot be subject to criminal punishment until he or she is found guilty by court.
