Judge suspected of accepting bribe for "proper" decision (PHOTO)
NABU and SAPO, jointly with the Strategic Investigations Department of the National Police in Zakarpattia region, have exposed a judge of the Volovets District Court taking a bribe.
According to the investigation, the suspect offered to lift the seizure of 20 cubic meters of timber in exchange for an undue advantage.
He also advised when and how to submit the motion to avoid its assignment to another investigating judge.
The perpetrator was detained while receiving a USD 1,300 bribe.
Qualification: Part 3, Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered not-guilty in the commission of a crime and cannot be subject to criminal punishment until he or she is found guilty by court.
