AMCU head faces new non-declaration charges

NABU and SAPO have notified the Head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) of a new suspicion — for failure to declare assets. His wife has also been notified of suspicion for aiding in illicit enrichment.

As established, the official failed to include in his 2024 electronic declaration information about 20 real estate properties and a luxury vehicle, all of which were registered in the names of relatives of his wife.

Specifically, the undeclared assets include:

  • 6 apartments in Kyiv and Uzhhorod;
  • a residential house near Kyiv, over 220 square meters in size and 2 land plots;
  • 2 garage boxes;
  • 6 parking spaces;
  • 3 non-residential premises totaling over 190 square meters;
  • a BMW X3 vehicle.

The AMCU head is already suspected of illicit enrichment and submitting false information in declarations for the years 2020–2023.

The proceedings were initiated following a Radio Svoboda (Radio Liberty) journalistic investigation.

According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered not-guilty in the commission of a crime and cannot be subject to criminal punishment until he or she is found guilty by court.
